RUO - FP344 EGFR(7p11) Gene Amplification Probe Detection Kit
Cat.# FP-344: EGFR(7p11) Gene Amplification Probe Detection Kit
[Overview]
The protein encoded by EGFR gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor. Binding of the protein to a ligand induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. Detailed Description:
This kit uses orange fluorescein to
label 7p11 and uses green fluorescein to label CEP7. 7p11/CEP7 probe can be
bound to the target detection site by in situ hybridization.
Intended Use:
This product is for Research Use Only. It is not intended for
diagnostic, prognostic, or therapeutic use.
1. This locus-specific probe is a vital tool for basic cytogenetic research, enabling scientists to:
Investigate deletions, amplifications, or rearrangements involving the 7p region in various in vitro research models.
2. Study the role of 7p alterations in gene function and cellular processes.
3. Utilize in conjunction with a chromosome 7 centromere probe (CEP 7) for the research of relative copy number changes.
